Course Outline:
Our Workplace First Response Fire Training Course will ensure that all of your employees are suitably trained in the safe use of Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hose Reels and Fire Blankets. This training course includes both a theory and a practical component to ensure that your employees can safely handle workplace emergencies.
If required a Northern Rescue Trainer can visit your workplace to determine your fire safety equipment and training needs. Northern Rescue Training can also provide you with supervised Evacuation Drills.

INITIAL FIREFIGHTING TRAINING

Course Outline:
Our nationally accredited Initial Firefighting training courses are designed for persons who may be required to operate firefighting in a first response role. This training introduces personnel to the basic principles of industrial firefighting.
Participants will develop skills to select the correct firefighting equipment based on the type of fire encountered. Training covers how to work in accordance with basic firefighting procedures. Personnel will receive training that is tailored to their work environment. This will include training in the areas of SIZEUP and an introduction to RECEO. This training course is a further course from the 1 day initial response course.

INTERMEDIATE FIREFIGHTING TRAINING – TEAM MEMBER
Competencies:

Course Outline:
Our nationally accredited Intermediate Firefighting training courses are designed for persons who may be required to operate as part of a team to combat various types of fires on-site. This training course is further and more comprehensive training which adds on from the initial one day training course. This training introduces personnel to the basic principles of structure firefighting, LPG Emergencies, Chemical Fires, Vehicle Fires and offensive/defensive firefighting techniques.
Participants will develop skills to select the correct firefighting equipment based on the type of fire encountered. Training covers how to act as part of a fire team in accordance with firefighting procedures and includes obtaining water, pumping water and attacking a fire. This course will provide further information for the sizeup of fires, usage of offensive/defensive attacks etc.

EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM LEADER TRAINING
Course Outline:
Our 1 Day ERT Team leader Training Course is designed to equip ERT Team leaders, Chief Wardens and other high level management with the skills to manage an emergency. ERT Team leaders need to make decisions quickly during potentially dangerous emergency events. This training course will provide personnel with the theory and practical exercises required to respond to any on-site emergency.
All instructors on this course are full-time emergency services personnel with Incident Command experience.

FIRE SAFETY ADVISOR TRAINING - QLD

Course Outline:
Our nationally accredited Fire Safety Advisor Training Course is designed to teach personnel how to be a Fire Safety Advisor in Queensland as required in the Building Fire safety Regulations 2008 QLD.
The Fire Safety Adviser has a responsibility to:
- be familiar with all aspects of building fire safety;
- provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate emergency planning has taken place; and
- provide advice to the occupier to ensure that appropriate instruction is carried out at the prescribed times and intervals.
This program is designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to assume the role and responsibilities of a Fire Safety Adviser. A Fire Safety Advisor is required in all buildings listed in the QLD Building Fire Safety Regulations*.
(* High Occupancy Building - 30 or more employees, a Class 2 or 3 building that is more than 25m in height, a Class 4 building and an at risk licensed premises as nominated by the Commissioner)
